Opening Heineken Building Rotterdam
After months of renovations, it was finally time on Friday, April 22, 2022: the reopening of the Heineken Building Rotterdam. Mayor Aboutaleb, along with the director of Heineken Netherlands (Hans Böhm), director of Stadsherstel Rotterdam (Niels van der Vlist), and the owners of this great concept (Floor van der Kooy and Marianne Kleppe), opened the building under the watchful eye of about 200 guests.
The beautiful listed monument has been restored to its former glory and, after many years, has been opened to the public to see and experience the story of Heineken and Rotterdam.
In the former executive rooms, five meeting locations have been created, with each space telling its own story. From The Family, showcasing Heineken's founding figures, to The Freddy, the grandson of Gerard, who put Heineken on the map with creative and humorous advertisements. The restored rooms can be booked for a wide range of gatherings. There is also a Secret Bar to conclude the meeting with a drink or to host a private party.
In collaboration with the Heineken Foundation, a carefully curated collection has been assembled, which can be admired in the hall and rooms through an audio tour or guided tour, concluding with a beer tasting in the Secret Bar or at Brouwerij Noordt.
Visitors to the Heineken Building Rotterdam can enjoy coffee with various sweet pastries, breakfast, or a homemade lunch in the shop.
New plans are on the table for even more possibilities and will be realized in the next phase. Heineken Building Rotterdam is the new hotspot in a historic building!
